A couple of week ago I showed my haul from the thriftstore for that day. On the bottom right you can just make out something pink & fuzzy: a small lambswool sweater. I had vague plans of turning it into a pillowcase. However, after washing it in the machine to make it more felted, I decided to turn it into wristwarmers (and maybe someday a pillowcase as well - there's plenty left).
I cut off the sleeves, cut a hole for the thumbs and added a little crochet edging with embroidery thread. Voila! (What took up most time is that I kept running out of thread. Note to self: next time, go out and buy some crochet thread; in the end it will only save time!)
Me likey. They are nice and soft and warm. And terribly girlish which I am perfectly entitled to in order not to be overrun by all this

ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I will add something to them after all... still haven't made up my mind whether or not they are too plain like this.
So very cute! I'll never look at a unused sweater the same way again! :) Love the pretty pink!
