Since after 2 weeks of rain we've finally had some real summer-holiday-weather over here, I don't have much to show you (as in things I've made myself). So I thought it would be nice to promote someone else's work for a change :)
Here are some of my current favourite items from DaWanda. (DaWanda is basically the european version of Etsy: pretty handmade goodies & supplies)

En vooral ook Sara die elke week haar lijstjes maakt, en mijn cuff  heeft gekozen!

Aangezien we hier na twee weken alleen maar regen voor het eerst zomervakantie-weer hebben gehad, heb ik niets om te laten zien (wat ik zelf heb gemaakt, dan). Dus leek het me leuk om eens iemand anders z'n werk te laten zien :)

* Felt cuff in red & black

I'm glad I got around to doing a little more embroidery lately (again partially inspired by TAST). This is another one of my felt cuffs; this time in blood red & black, with black flowers and thorny vines. A little grey to give it a little more life, and the backing is also in grey. And another vintage button from the grandmothers' stash :)
I liked the gothic-fairytale look in the end: it was a bit of a challenge to use a single colour, and I did compromise with the dark grey french knots, but I think it kinda works. What do you think?

Eindelijk kon ik weer even lekker wat boduren (wederom deels geinspireerd door TAST). Het werd weer een vilten cuff: deze keer in bloedrood & zwart, met zwarte bloemen en doornige stengels. Een beetje donkergrijs om het wat levendiger te maken, en de achterkant is ook grijs. En nog een vintage knoop uit de oma's voorraad :)
Ik vind de gothic-sprookjes look wel mooi: het was een uitdaging om 1 enkele kleur te gebruiken en ik heb een beetje vals gespeeld met het grijs, maar ik vind het resultaat wel geslaagd. Wat vind jij?
EDIT: nu in mijn winkeltje te koop.
EDIT: hij is VERKOCHT, minder dan 4 uur nadat 'ie in de winkel kwam! Yay :)

Blogger has been acting weird lately, so this post has been a while in the making :(
Better late than never I suppose...
And a request: is there someone that can give me a hand with the dutch translations of the stitches? Or refer me somewhere... thanks for any help!

Week 19 of Take A Stitch Tuesday. This week: Half Chevron Stitch.
Liked this one: it has a lot of possible uses I think.
(YES I noticed the mistake in the name: will change that when I get around to it ;)
I went out of my comfort zone with the pastel colours; didn't like that very much though.

Leuke steek: heeft veel mogelijkheden lijkt me.
(En JA ik heb de fout in de naam gezien: zal hem binnenkort veranderen ;)
Met de pastelkleuren deed ik eens iets 'anders dan anders'; daar was ik wat minder tevreden over.

I've done quite a lot of Buttonhole, but had no idea this is something a bit different you can do with that same stitch. I am certain I will be using this one!

Ik heb heel wat gefestonneerd, maar had geen idee dat je dit ook kon doen met diezelfde steek. Ik weet zeker dat ik deze vaker zal gebruiken!

Week 24 of Take A Stitch Tuesday. This week: Buttonhole Wheel.
Really liked this one! It made me think of seashells & mushrooms, so I chose some lovely soft natural shades and just had fun with the stitch.

Erg leuke steek! Deed me denken aan schepjes & paddestoelen, dus koos ik wat zachte natuurtinten uit en ging ermee aan de slag.

Week 20 of Take A Stitch Tuesday. This week: Bullion Knot Stitch.
This really wasn't my cup of tea. It's a lot like French Knots, and even though I like those I couldn't really get the hang of this one.

Dit was niks voor mij. Hij lijkt nogal op de 'French Knot' maar hoewel ik die wel leuk vind, kreeg ik deze maar niet echt in de vingers.
