I immediately made another cuff :) This time I used 2 layers of felt, so this one is sturdier and hopefully won't stretch as much as the last one. I also played a little with the stitching: I used a simple backstitch in some of my favourite colours.
(the colours are a bit darker than they appear in the pics)

Ik heb meteen nog een armband gemaakt :) Deze keer van 2 lagen vilt, dus een stuk steviger en hopelijk rekt deze ook niet zo erg uit als de vorige. Ook heb ik wat gespeeld met het borduursel: wat simpele steekjes in mooie kleurtjes.
(de kleuren zijn in het echt wat donkerder dan op de foto's)

I had an idea that just kept hanging around in the back of my head, so I had to get it out of there and into life. This is what came of it. It's a bit of a prototype, because it has some flaws that I would like to fix in a next model, but I like how it turned out and am certain I will be making more of these :)

Ik had een ideetje dat maar in mijn hoofd bleef rondzingen, dus moest het er maar eens uit komen. Dit is wat het werd. Het is een prototype, want er zijn nog een paar dingetjes mis mee die ik in een volgend model wil verbeteren, maar ik vind het wel geslaagd en ga er zeker meer maken :)

Thrift Store Finds & a lot of buttons!

Struck gold again for once this morning at the thrift store ;)

Vanochtend weer eens ouderwets gescoord bij de kringloop ;)

On the left: 3 pieces of kid's clothing of which I liked the print and will be using in an upcoming project; on the right 2 scarves for me; on the bottom a white scarf which I plan to dye; and then plastic minty green knitting needles in a size I missed and a little device to check needle sizes.
Total costs: 3 whole euros :D
And for the button fans out there:

Links 3 kinderkledingstukjes waarvan ik de printjes erg leuk vind, en die ik ga gebruiken in een projectje; rechts 2 sjaaltjes voor mezelf; onder een witte sjaal die ik ga verven; dan nog plastic mintgroene parelmoer breinaalden in een maat die ik nog niet had; en Het Margriet Breinaaldenmetertje.
Kosten: 3 hele euros :D
En dit wilde ik de knopenliefhebbers onder jullie niet onthouden:

Last night I was looking for new buttons for Big Brother's jacket (which is mysteriously losing all it's buttons). It took me almost an hour to sort through this mountain. Most of these are from an old shoebox full of buttons that came from my grandmother. There are some really pretty ones in there, but also a lot of plain ones, and there simply are too many of them! I need to do something with them, maybe put them on eBay? Or better to put them on Dawanda or Ety? And in one big heap or in little groups? Help!

Gisteravond moest ik knopen uitzoeken voor de jas van Grote Broer (die op onverklaarbare wijze al zijn knopen verliest). Ik was bijna een uur bezig om door deze berg heen te graven. De meeste komen uit een oude schoenendoos vol knopen die van mijn oma is geweest. Er zitten hele mooie tussen, maar ook heel veel saaie, en het zijn er gewoon echt te veel! Ik moet er iets mee, misschien op marktplaats zetten, of ebay? Of beter op dawanda of etsy? En dan in 1 grote berg of in groepjes? Help!
